I'm Done! Yay! I finished the last pen tonight and all the rest of them went out yesterday. I have one more I'm waiting for a display box because I ran out, and the one I finished tonight with custom signature to send out later this week. I am so happy that this project is complete and am very blessed by all of the wonderful comments I have received from all of my backers! Everyone seems to be loving their pens and are appreciative of the work I put into all of them.
Check out the updated Kickstarter Gallery with all of the Pens posted there. So many unique combinations of colors and styles! This was a fun project and I look forward to the next one after shoulder surgery. Until then, I have quite a bit of inventory available that you can se in the Snazzy Pens Store.
Thanks again to all of my backers. To learn more about what this project was, check it out at Kickstarter and follow me there and on Instagram.
The Kickstarter Gallery has been updated with new pictures! We are about 70% done with the production for this project! It has been crazy busy, but I am so grateful for all of the contributions from everyone! I am having a lot of fun seeing all the different color and plating combinations in everyones' choices. I hope to get everything finished and sent out by early to mid May! Now, I need to get back to work to make this happen! See ya next time!
The Gallery Page of all the rewards being sent out for the Kickstarter Project is now up and I have loaded the first 20 rewards that have been sent out. I will be updating this gallery every week or two when I get pictures taken and formatted. Check it out now and keep coming back to see the new stuff going out!
So, it's been a while since I've posted on the Blog... mostly because I've been in production from the Kickstarter Project. I have re-arranged the garage and bought some new equipment to help speed up production. It has been a blessing that so many people supported my project and enabled me to do this. Some pictures below of what's been happening.
New Kickstarter Gallery
Check out the new Kickstarter Project Gallery! I'll be updating with pictures from the project. Each backer will be listed as a token of my appreciation with the rewards that they received. As I complete rewards and send them out, I will update on a weekly basis. So if you backed me and don't see a picture here, come back soon for the next update.
This is the last week of the Kickstarter Project.... It is doing very well, and we are almost to our $5000 stretch goal! Now is the time to get in and get your custom made pen before the campaign is over! Go to Kickstarter now to make your pledge. Thank you to everyone who has supported us both by pledging and by sharing our project with others. We couldn't have done it without your help. Here's some example pictures of pens you can get.
We have so much going on this week! The Kickstarter project has gone WAY better than expected and we have reached our $2500 stretch goal just two days after setting it! Wow everyone! Thanks so much for all of your support. I can't express it enough. So, in order to celebrate, everyone who pledged in the KS project is getting an upgraded presentation box! Woo-hoo! We also set our next stretch goal of $5000. When reached we will do another reveal!
In addition to the Kickstarter doing so well, I have completely updated the online store with the backlog of inventory! We now have some new items available, as noted by the slideshow above. These include - Seam Ripperz, Seam Ripper Necklace, Golf Ball Mark Repair Toolz, a new Key Ring Pen, and Cell Phone/Tablet Stand and Stylus! Come and check 'em all out - www.SnazzyPenz.com
We have more coming, so keep a look out. Update coming next week or sooner.
So, a quick update. The Kickstarter Campaign has been going better than expected and we reached our funding goal of $1000 in just 3 days! So we came up with a stretch goal to do $2500.
To help get us to the stretch goal, we are offering a new reward level at $35 for a Designer Letter Opener!
In addition, if we reach $2500 then everyone who backed us will receive an upgraded presentation box! This is about an $8 value we are doing just to say thank you to everyone for helping us get to where we need to be for new equipment.
We are also planning for our next stretch goal of $5000, just in case... so keep your fingers crossed, and help spread the word!

Hey everyone, just want to let you know that we've started a Kickstarter Campaign to help us raise some money for new equipment and supplies so we can offer you more Snazzy Penz. I'd like to offer some new styles and maybe do some other items, not just pens, and this is going to require some new equipment.
As part of this campaign, we are offering backers the ability to customize a pen from the choices provided. These are all some of my favorites styles and you choose the wood, color and component plating for a look that is "all you". In addition, there will be a few Limited Edition items only available to the Kickstarter backers of this campaign, so hurry and check it out. You can see it here - SnazzyPenz Kickstarter Campaign.
Here's a few samples of the penz we are offering as rewards.
So, click on the link - Check out the campaign - and even if you don't wish to participate, please share this campaign and create some noise so I can reach my goal! Thank you and God Bless.
Well, it's a new year, and in the standard tradition, Wendi and I have sat down and set some new goals. We talked about some new ideas we want to try and where we want to go with penz and other offerings. So, I am very excited to share with you what we cam up with. We have a lot of new goals, and it's going to take some work and persistence on my part to meet those goals, but I am ready for the challenges.
So, my first goal is to be more active with my blog and on Social Media in general. I am no longer going to post here on a whim here and there, but I'm setting a schedule. I will be blogging at least once a week (scheduled on Wednesdays). Sometime near June or so I am going to bump it up to twice a week, maybe sooner. With that being said, I will have more content than just new pen styles and other items, I'll also be sharing information such as finishing techniques for other turners, general pen info, how to make laminated woods and inserts, and more. (If you have any ideas or questions you would like answered, please feel free to comment and I will do my best to make it a topic.)
My next major goal is very exciting to me. We are going to be offering a bunch of new items here at Snazzy Penz! Not just new pen styles, but other items such as pill boxes, golf ball repair mark tools, purse hangers, salt and pepper grinders, and more! In order to do that, we are launching a Kickstarter Campaign to help fund the new equipment that I needed, some of which we already bought. The Kickstarter Campaign is scheduled to go live on Jan 15, and will run for 30 days, so I'll post more info on that when we get closer. In this campaign, backers will be able to support us, and in return are going to receive some fantastic custom penz! Choose the design, wood, and color and your preference.
More New Things
Another goal is to create a central website and business name for all of the things we do and want to do in the future. We are going to call it WA2 Studios. The name is special to us because it is basically our initials W.A. & T.W.O. We chose this because we do everything together, running the pen business, our other hobbies, and just hangin' out, we share as much time together as we can. So, I am going down and getting the business license tomorrow for the new name, and will keep you posted as to when we get that site up. It will include info on and links to Snazzy Penz, Woodworker's Loft, Artista 365 (Wendi's Art Site), and eventually my Bentwood Rings.
So, as usual, I got ahead of myself. I just let the cat out of the bag on the new ideas we are shooting for. Along with turning, I also enjoy using my scroll saw, especially the new one I got for my birthday! So, I will be starting a new site call Woodworker's Loft sometime mid-year. I have to make some product for that and get some inventory, but it is coming soon, I promise you that.
Along with that I am also working on a prototype for making wood rings... like the kind you wear on your finger. The technique I use maintains the strength of the wood's natural grain, and creates a very durable and strong ring, not to mention hypoallergenic for those who can't wear nickle/metals (and they are just beautiful.) So, my goal is set to have the prototype done by the end of January and at last a half dozen produced for the craft shows I have coming up in March and May. So, keep a look out for that site to go live near mid year as well.
So, that's it for the set goals we have so far. There is possible talk of maybe a YouTube channel in the works as well where I will do some turning videos, but we'll have to see how the rest of things pan out first. Wendi has already started a personal channel, Hangin' With Wen that you can check out, and she's starting another Art Vlog in February for Artista 365. Maybe she'll get me talked into doing one, but I'm just not ready to make that commitment yet.
So, as you can tell, I have a busy year coming up. Goals are set, and I don't plan on letting any of them slip. Now I've made it public, so I have to stay on track! I look forward to giving it all I've got. God Bless you and yours.
This year's collector ornament has finally made it to the website! This year I decided to do an ornament with some color! The wood is many thin sheets of veneer dyed in primary colors and then laminated or glued together. When this is turned, it produces a stunning visual effect. I opted for a shape that was different than the typical round or egg shapes, as I thought it would add more interest with the laminated blank. I only made a select few of these, and I think they will go quickly, so come and get yours soon to get it by Christmas!
I love to work with my hands and take pride my attention to detail and finishes. I believe you're never too old to learn new skills and continue to learn and grow in my craft. I love to try new ideas to see if they will work and learn from each one that I do. You can never know everything about anyone thing. There's always something to learn.
