No, its not a pen, these are our new Seam Rippers. Those of you who have done any sewing might have had use for one of these to remove existing stitches from a project. I have made these in a ergonomic design to make it easy to push into the seam with little effort. We will offer a couple of different styles, currently a single seam ripper and a dual ended version. The single has a clip on it to allow it to be carried in a pocket or clipped to a piece of material for easy access. These make great gifts for anyone you know who does any kind of needle-craft, sewing, or even leather tooling.
So, I wanted to do something special for my step-son Adam to congratulate him on making Staff Sergeant recently.
Here's the pen I made for him. The Staff Sergeant badge is laser cut from a Holly blank and then dyed blue. Then the pieces are all put together on the brass tube that the hardware presses into. I turned it very carefully on the lathe using only a skew with very light cuts. This way I didn't have to do any sanding because sanding would have gotten the blue dust into the white of the holly. I was able to keep it nice and clean, with no "bleeding" of the colors! Once the shape was done, I finished it with CA acrylic and polished it out to a brilliant shine. I decide to put this on a bolt action because Adam used to be on the drill team and spin rifles. Plus being military, the bolt action rifle was fitting. I think that one of our Liberty Bolt Actions would have been a good choice as well.
I can make these in any rank and service for anyone interested. If you know someone in the service and would like to get them a one-of-a-kind pen, let me know and I can make it.
Congrats again Adam for a job well done. Your mom and I are so proud of you and your accomplishments. Keep up the good work, and thank you for your service.
So, as promised... here are some more new styles we recently finished.
The first one here is called the Concava, named so because of the shape of the top of the pen where the clip is. As you can tell, it curves in, giving it a very feminine shape. The Concava Style Penz are a little wider than our Slimlines, but there are a lot of heavy metal components, so they are a little weighty for those who like a little more heft, but still want a more slender pen.
Meet the Princess Pen! This beauty has Swarovski crystals embedded in the center band and the clip, making it a pen with bling! These will come in Chrome with Blue crystals (pictured below), Chrome, Gold or Rose Gold with clear crystals, Chrome with Pink crystals, and Gold with Red crystals. I made this one pictured for Leon (my boss). He wanted to give it to his daughter for a graduation gift as she finished her degree at NCU. I have another on in similar color in the store, and will have other color options available soon.
The Junior Antony is one of our Fountain Penz. Not only is this style beautiful, with all the hand carved circles in the center band and the cap and finial ends, it writes like a dream. Th Jr. Antonys come fitted it with a German made #6 medium Jowo nib and both an ink converter and ink cartridge standard, but I can get fine, extra fine, and broad nibs as well. This particular one has a body that is half wood burl and half resin, giving it a distinct look. As with most of our Penz, I can make these in almost and plating combination as well as the color or material of your choice. Just let me know what you want, and I'll make it.
It's been a while since I was able to update everyone on the pen styles we have available, so I wanted to catch up.
Comfort Pen & Pencil Sets!
We are very excited to bring some diversity to our inventory and introduce the first Pen and Pencil Sets. These are in the Comfort style Ballpoint Pen and Mechanical Pencil. Similar to our Trimline, the center band has a simpler design and some have a rubber Comfort Grip for those pesky writing cramps! Click on the link to see more of our Comfort Pen and Pencil Sets.
Lever Action Pen
Next up we have another addition to our Patriotic Penz. It's the Lever Action American Pride Pen. Featuring a hand carved eagle and "We the People" in the body, it's a reminder of our 2nd amendment right to bear arms. In addition, the tip is a copper replica of a 30 caliber bullet. Only one in stock at this time, but will have more to come soon!
The last one we have for now is the Sierra Style Ballpoint Pen. We have a variety of different component finishes and materials. We have a couple of click styles as well as twist versions in the Sierra Style. The twist version is pictured below and it twists in the center of the pen.
We hope you enjoy the new styles available. I have more I will introduce in the next couple of days, so check in often to see whats new! Remember that all of our Penz are handcrafted, one at a time by me, so each one is unique and cannot be found anywhere else.
Hey Everybody, well the redesign of the website is officially complete! We think it looks and feels much better, please let us know what you think.
We have a lot to update you on, new products and pen styles in the last few weeks. We are now offering Wine Bottle Stoppers and Seam Rippers. I'm also working on some new tools to make completely custom Fountain and Roller Ball Penz, without metal components! Hopefully this will be coming soon.
On another note, I am getting ready to design this year's Christmas Tree Ornaments. As soon as I get the first one out, I'll be posting a picture so you can see and order. Follow us and keep up with the new styles and offerings, we have quite a few things in store.
I love to work with my hands and take pride my attention to detail and finishes. I believe you're never too old to learn new skills and continue to learn and grow in my craft. I love to try new ideas to see if they will work and learn from each one that I do. You can never know everything about anyone thing. There's always something to learn.
